Our mission is horticultural education and our passion is connecting people and plants to enhance the community.
In-Kind Donations SMAS accepts plants, cuttings and pots and containers. We use only organic materials so we cannot accept chemicals such as synthetic fertilizers or pest insecticides. You may take these items to the San Mateo County Toxic Waste Drop Off, 32 Tower Road, San Mateo (by appointment).
Monetary Donations We gratefully accept any amount which may be contributed as a one-time donation or as a recurring donation at a frequency of your choosing. You may also target a donation to a special project (see below).
Rose Arbor Donations SMAS is adding two beautiful arbors to the east-west gazebo pathway. These will support a variety of climbing roses. We hope to have them constructed and installed by late summer of 2023. Fundraising is currently underway. Help make the Rose Garden even better.
Order Tribute Bricks Purchase engraved, personalized bricks for permanent placement along the pathway in the Butterfly-Hummingbird Garden has now been expanded to the Rose Garden. The revenue from this campaign supports our mission to educate the community and maintain and enhance several Central Park gardens. We make every effort to install tribute bricks quickly. But the typical time to process and install a tribute brick is approximately 3 months as we depend on an outside vendor to create them.
