2020 Greenhouse and Nursery Reopening Updates

The Greenhouse Volunteers have been busy updating the plant selections in the Nursery & Greenhouses.
Following is just a small selection of new plants and things to see.

Bonsai Donation

One new donation we have is a group of bonsai plants from a donor who was giving up his home.  They would be a great statement plant on a balcony or patio.

Natives

It is a good time to take a look at the native table.  We have a great selection and they are at their best right now.  Notice we have both sun and shade natives.
House Plants
Volunteer Brenda has been working to keep her houseplants in good condition.  They look wonderful.  Just ask one of the sales people and can get you into the orchid room and houseplant rooms.

Bigger Selection of
​Succulent Pots

We are adding more of our best selling succulent pots.  We have just received a large donation of succulents which we are potting up now.

Walking Iris and
​Lavender viridis

New plants we have never had before are Neomarica gracilis or walking iris - look it up.  It is from Australia.  It really isn’t an iris and it has almost orchid like ​blooms.
​Another new one is Lavender viridis.  It has greenish white blooms.  There are some more surprises coming down the propagation line.
Plants from the Demo Garden
The trees in the demonstration garden are putting on quite a show and will keep it up until fall.  Our specimen trees are over fifteen years old and untrimmed until lately.  They can be easily kept to bush size by pruning.  We have plenty of starter plants for Tecoma stans and marmalade bush.   The beautiful blue tree we sadly won’t have plants for the table until September.
