Saturday, May 7th is the date to remember for sustainable garden lovers. The 39th Hillsborough-San Mateo Garden tour will take place from 10am to 4pm and the tax free plant sale continues until 5 pm. This major fundraiser allows the San Mateo Arboretum Society to support Central Park and provide many sustainable landscape and conservation programs to the public throughout the year.
After taking the tour, patrons are invited back to the Kohl Pumphouse in Central Park for the no tax plant sale, hourly demonstration in creating Fairy Garden, vendors, and the Butterfly and Rose Gardens, all created and tended by Arboretum Society volunteers. Refreshment will be available for purchase. |
This year’s collection of gardens offers something for every interest, including a timeless formal English garden in Hillsborough transformed using drought-tolerant and native plants. As you stroll through the 3+ acres, enjouy the harp and flute music. |
One of the smaller gardens in Burlingame is part of a green remodel which was deconstructed thoughtfully to spare the landfill. If you are planning your own home renovation you won't want to miss this garden. |
The other three gardens each have their own special plant (and wildlife) features which will surprise and delight those taking the much anticipated self-guided walking tour. |
DON'T MISS THIS YEARS GARDEN TOUR!
